Marmalade, Baby Make it Soon

“More older and male marmalade-eaters prefer the marmalades with thick-cut peel; more younger and female ones prefer the ‘fine-cuts.’ The view that a preference for coarse-cut marmalade is particularly male is borne out by the style of Frank Cooper’s Oxford Marmalade, with its exceptionally large, wide, flavourful pieces of orange peel, for its initial success was in the very masculine arena of the late nineteenth-century university among the dons and undergraduates; and since then it has been the choice of explorers– taken by Scott to the Antarctic and by Hillary to the heights of Everest.”
-C. Anne Wilson, The Book of Marmalade

Looks like we’re tough guys over here at Preservation Society– our marmalade is, for the most part, heartily hand-cut and thoughtfully rough-hewn. Fortunately, university and exploration are now for everyone, as is coarse-cut marmalade.
